Celebrating Over 60 Years of Montessori Excellence
Nurturing Minds – Shaping Futures
Cambridge Montessori School is an independent non-profit school educating students aged 18 months to 14 years. Located in the heart of Cambridge Massachusetts, Cambridge Montessori School is a vibrant, collaborative community of passionate teachers, joyful students, and engaged parents. Our diverse community reflects the city and world in which we live.
Empowering our students to become lifelong contributors to society by being creative innovators, global thinkers, effective and respective communicators, with the confidence to thrive and make a difference in our complex world.
BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Passport Programs
The Passport program at CMS encompasses the auxiliary programs that occur outside of the academic day. The Passport programs are designed to enhance your child’s experience and to provide a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for CMS students and members of the surrounding community.
Clubs
At CMS, students cultivate interests and turn them into talents. Passport Clubs are opportunities for students to bond over shared interests and to form new friendships as they deepen and refine their skills. Each semester we offer a variety of clubs consistent with the interests and developmental needs of our students. Our clubs are led by CMS faculty and by qualified outside professionals.
Summer Camps
Summer is a time for children to explore, create and discover. CMS Passport Summer Camps are staffed by talented and dedicated camp counselors, many of whom are CMS faculty, staff or alumni. Passport Summer Camps allow children to continue learning but have fun too! Children spend time in the classrooms working with familiar materials and building their skills. They have plenty of outside time, water play, and activities centered around each week’s fun theme. Passport Summer Camp is open to current CMS students, as well as non-CMS students ages 18 months to 10 years old.
Parent Association
CMS families have incredible strengths, skills, talents and passions. The Parent Association (PA) seeks to provide meaningful ways for all families to be engaged in supporting our school. It is the goal of the PA to nurture a cohesive, positive school community and offer support to teachers and classrooms.
While all CMS parents/guardians are automatically part of the PA, the PA Chair and the Classroom Parent Reps collaborate with the school and the greater body of parents and guardians to bring us all together. We encourage everyone to be involved and there is no set way to do it. Whether you attend an event or help plan one, every time you participate, you model positive action and community building, helping our students understand how to make an impact in the world.
Cambridge Montessori School is a community where cultures blend and everyone feels at home. The curriculum is rich, allowing the students to remain curious about the whole world. I am thankful for the teachers who maintain a balance between rigorous learning and healthy and peaceful classrooms. Thank you CMS for all of this and more!”
